The wonderful Pokemon prehistory by Weirda-s-M-art The wonderful Pokemon prehistory by Weirda-s-M-art
YOU CAN SEE IT ON TUMBLR~
pokerole-project.tumblr.com/po…
  for this project: pokerole-project.tumblr.com/po…

I feel a bit sorry for the Chesnaught and Quilladin...It's an effect when you have to do something while having no idea what to do exactly.
Chesnaught is the last good experiment with some fancy colors :( but it's always better to try than to give up at the beginning!

And swampert.
>refers to polish Rafello commercial<
Swampert. Expresses more than thousand words.
I adore this prehistoric amphibian Pokemon and here...I drew it as I wanted! :iconloveloveplz:

TWO CENTS PROLOGUE: I was had to limit myself here to keep so with the original design, read just a bit below why
(My true drawings for Tyrantrum, Chesnaught and Anorith would be more detailed than here; Bastiodon head is also changed,
because THAT Pokemon is really risky choice, but I hope it will be accepted)
They're really simplified designs, if you don't know my style.
- - - - - - - -
THIS.
IT'S MY DREAM.
WHAT I WANNA DO WITH ALL OF MY HEART.
Pokemon Paleoart.
Not that I just drew a realistic Pokemon, but I want to bring you into a time travell and it's into a Pokemon World~!:iconloveloveplz:

I happened to check one drawing that was said as illustration for this project:
pokerole-project.tumblr.com/po…

When I read, I wanted to try, but when I saw hom much time is left... :iconpetrifiedplz:
OMG and my theme the topic I want to draw the amazing prehistory theme I was begging it wasn't took by someone else...!

"The Marvelous World of Pokemon
Pokemon through the ages [Prehistory]" <----MIIINE. It's my love, it's my life. Don't take my life. MINE.

Luckily, it was free~ :iconexcitedplz: and what more, MY STYLE WAS ACCEPTED SINCE MY REALISTIC 'MONS ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO ORIGINAL!
That's why also these, not another :V

Anyway, have also Weirda Mirrart's journal~ (well, it's like from the picked up by me timeline fragment, please don't think
too much is it like from now or from like the start of comic I write down detalied scenario, just enjoy Weirda's journal)

Weirda Mirrart journal entry: A travell from the past to the future
Sometimes I come back with my memories to those days when I was small and I totally loved to dig into books and read, read and read
about biology and especially about prehistory.
I was that passionate after looking at some wonderful artists who made very detailed drawings with the story behind that really
made me travell into prehistory times, so as small girl I daydreamed I will be doing the same and work with paleontologist or meet
other paleoartists.

My life and parents unfortunately got me into struggling with wondering why I even started to want all that.
Thankfully, even if I still cannot find any publishing house that would want to hire me, I don't get discouraged.
It's just something I want and I cannot live without. I know I am just not enought good for them, so I train even more
to improve.

Yesterday I've met Professor Tipsy to discuss and share our observations, opinions and our passion.
I cannot believe sometimes I am so lucky to met this man. Every time I spend with him, I feel like wandering through the time
and no one knows what's the current time: is it the trassic period, or last week's encounter of rare Pokemon or maybe it's actual
talk about how to change the Pokemon science knowledge basics that makes people not enough awarness about the Pokemon species...
I just like travell with him through the time.
I think now I can say for sure, we both love to focus especially on phenomenal and speculative Pokemon species that people
or easily give up to study, or are confused about only because relying on Pokedex data...which is really, really lame. We both think the same about that!
Awesome. It's simply awesome to met someone like that.

That's why I thought I am already enough skilled to draw probationary paleoart illustrations and try to hit into publishing houses
if I can find any to work with.
Even if not, I want to show them to Professor Tipsy when we will met next time!
I choosed my favourite prehistoric Pokemon and I want to share some of my opinions and gathered information about them:

Anorith:
This Pokemon lived over 500 milions years ago and his finds are really important to paleontologists.
In fossil material, there was almost nothing way before the "cambrian explosion" which is a "boom" in fossil finds
with multiple fossiled Kabuto, Anoriths, Lileeps and even Cradily! There are many theories why this, I guess it's because
Anorith was first top predator that forced evolution to go faster AND living forms learned to accumulate minerals in their bodies,
so they resulted with high possibility to endure as fossils to modern times. I guess there WERE earlier forms, but they were too poor
to get fossilized. Many people think Anorith was using mouth to crush Cradily, but it's not true!
It was had to use claws to break through Lileep sturdy shell and then it ate their soft bodies with the mouth. After scientist discovered
Armaldo fossil and revived some Anorith, they realized that after much training it can give a strong bite by learning bug bite
through move tutor. Albeit it doesn't learn it by level up.
Interesting thrivia: for a very long time, Anortih was known as a prehistoric shrimp and paleontologist thought that back in these
times there was no predator, but some saucer-like medusa Pokemon, a small shrimp with claw-like tail and kind of prehistoric plume.
You can laugh at this, but who would really imaginate a Pokemon like Anorith back then?! Paleontologist have often really hard work
to figure out how Pokemon looked like if they have nothing to compare with!

Swampert:
Another fascinating species. Swampert species is dated back to over 380 milion years ago and its pre-evolution stage,
Marshtomp, even further!
Before Prof. Birch found some fossils in swamps, as the ancestor of all land Pokemon was thought to be a Relicanth.
It was had enough of sturdy body to try to breath on land(because its hard body would prevent lungs from collapsing because of the weight)
AND it was the only known fish to be enough old AND to have muscled fins which would evolve into primitive legs.
Unfortunately, the DNA analyzis proved this lobe-finned fish IS ONLY RELATED to land Pokemon ancestor, but it's NOT their straight ancestor.
Fossil finds of Marshtomp and Swampert always made paleontologist and scientist confused, because it was something they wouldn't compare
to anything they knew. Descripted as Mud Fish because of the head shape and fish fins, Swampert fossils were thought to actually
be a fossil of a prehistoric fish that feeded on leftovers of bigger, land Pokemon. If you will ever have an occassion to see
Marshtomp fossil, I guarantee you, 99% of you will think it's a joke or even if true skeleton, it's rather a skeleton
of failed genetical experiment! Now we know that Marshtomp is the transition fossil between fish and amphibians, while Swampert
was the first Pokemon species that was able to live on land. It's also the only known amphibian that has internal insemination
and they doesn't lay eggs, but females gives birth of fully formed metamorphed Mudkip from larvae stage.

Bastiodon and Tyrantrum:
One of the most famous prehistoric Poekmon, Tyrantrum and one of the most forgettable, Bastiodon.
First of all, many, many paleoillustrations show only a drawing of Pokemon, totally ignoring how they lived or behaved.
Like Mammoswine or Aurorus drew standalone in empty space, while they lived in herds and travelled throught the tundra.
Same goes for Bastiodon: they also lived in herds and they were intelligent to organize their group and wokr together to defend
from predators, like Tyrantrum. After the discovery of this Pokemon species, no one in the whole world wouldn't know about the biggest
carnivore dinosaur that was had also feathrely crown around its neck.
Bastiodon, however, is one of the most forgettable dinosaur, because it's in the shadow of its cousin, Aggron which is a living fossil.
Furthermore, I am sad if there are illustration of this species, they're shown or in a battle where two male spare at the mating season,
or when one standalone Bastiodon hurts Tyrantrum defending its young. That gives as a prejudice they're like Aggron, while they're
totally not!
The evolution forced them into less effective way in matter of offensive, but like with some birds, their evolution
went into the beauty focus, resulting with many subspecies with differennt shape of frills. Bastiodon were very peaceful dinosaurs,
their horns were pointed on the side and they haven't got a sharp horn on the nose like Aggron.
They were able to totally defend against EVERYTHING, even aggressive Aggron, a rampaging Steelix or Tyrantrum.
Combination of cooperating herd with high defences, sturdy abbility AND the move Metal Burst made them a tank that as for healthy
ones, was unbeatable. That's why Tyrantrum surprisly was had to learn the OHKO move Horn drill to even be able to kill something
like this at a single-and-only occasion if there was one that stepped outside the wall.
I want to tell you from my personall experience, I saw how Bastiodon owned by Byron from Canalave City use Protect move
and it's the strongest Protect move I have ever seen! Usually, a sphere iscreated that's a bit bigger than Pokemon,
throught the time and training the area and sphere grows. The sphere, or rather, a spheric wall that Bastiodon was able
to create was able to reach around of 10 metres of height from the ground!
It's just incredible!

Quilladin and Chesnaught:
My latest focus of research, the Chespin line. after I've found in the internet the ramble and turmoil
around newly registered grass starter, from the Kalos region, I just couldn't resist to come to the Kalos
and even the-first-what-I've-done was to adapt one from a shelter, because sadly, many trainers thought Chespin is cute
and I don't know what they expected from a rodent-like...sloth Pokemon! Maybe another Vigoroth? I don't know, I just was happy to be able to see a living prehistoric Glyptodon and then I discovered that Kalos has many tales and legends about a Paladin Pokemon, Chesnaught.
Some people accept its unique appreance and like it, some think its something strange and they wish to see another kitten or dog
in their team than something they don't know what's it. Chespin line is simply fascinating!
Do you know what Pokemon is closely related to them? Slakoth line! I wonder who knows that?
Oh yes, obviously Professor Tipsy who actualy even wrote a short summary report of Slaking.
Unlike them, however, Quilladin and Chesnaught were peaceful and totally not dangerous, even if very strong.
They were respected by our ancestors, they used Quilladin shells as bowls or cradle for newborn babies.
Chesnaught shells were ideal as small houses. Their white, dense fur was used to make a wear for winter times in Kalos.
They weren't killed by people, it's documented that they doesn't have any wounds from weapons from these times.
If they were hunted, only probably by specially trained Talonflame by people and probably only when their body was badly needed.
It was said as blasphemy or even a sin to Lord Xerneas if someone dared to kill Quilladin or Chensnaught.
They meant too much to us back then. I am still studying Chespin line, because not many people nowadays keep them, sadly.
People still think it's a kind of hedghehog, while they're not! Even Excadrill species is more related to them than Shaymin!

:iconawwwplz: aaaahhh~
I am off from the reality to just daydream about Pokemon paleoart and Pokemon science...:icondragoneat: so delicious to my existence
I still remember my first sight love to John Sibbick paleoart...and I still adore his all illustrations

You: :iconwhatdidyoujustsayplz: ehh that Weirda....boooriiiiing.

me: :icondragoneat: and the sweet Shieldon which is an ancestor of the whole marginocephalia and I can see how its head would be like
my greatest mirror and its said it polishes...>bla bla blaa~<

P.S. from Weirda Mirrart: Now excuse me, I'm going to bow to my Samurai Swampert, because he's the first ancestor of us all
and then I'm going to take my Paladin to the forest where he will worship Lord Xerneas together with his mom.

>silly Weirda starts overthinking< Anorith: Wooooo I am an alien I came from the Arceus to tell you something, bruh
Swampert: ooo really? What does it say?
Anorith: "I choosed you to be the an ancestor of all land Pokemon! Go breed and let evolution work"
Swampert: Uh, okay...since there's nothing to do on the land...
Bastiodon: Don't you dare to hurt our kids, you're NOT the king of these lands!
Tyrantrum: Graah, I AM! I don't care, I do what I want, watch me on my parade RAWR
Quilladin: woow they're not afraid of that dragon...
Chesnaught: This dragon is not even worth to fight with. It's just a dinosaur.

:iconrofl2plz: I laughed so hard when I realized what I've done with the composition, :rofl:uahahahah the Anorith is the best.

ALIENS ARE AMONG US!

Swampert doesn't look ancient enough coming from a swampert fan. Omastar would have been a better choice to me.

It's your view; I'm also a Swampert fan, but for me it looks definitely like a transitional stage between fish and amphibian.

I get it. This may fall into the ancient pokemon category but how does this sound? I'm going to draw a komodo dragon pokemon and make it ground/fighting. That's a unique type that hasn't been done yet.

I'll add the description it preys on pokemon like ekans, ratata, and even seviper. I read feraligator eats magikarp and stantler and komodos eat those animals in real life. Oh and since presumably it knows mach punch, that its strikes are so powerful, they can even crack the armor of tyranitar. How does that sound?
